Multi–Design Associates, an Aircraft Interior Design company established in 1991 and located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Abel Lopez heads the company as President and founder. MDA is comprised of a permanent staff of designers, engineers, managers and other experts in the Aircraft Interior industry. Additional staff and specialists are hired on an as needed basis, and are sub-contracted by Multi-design Associates.

Multi-Design Associates provides Interior Design and Engineering services for VIP, Corporate, and Head of State Aircraft Interiors. We have provided design services for various types of clients, from VIP individuals, corporations, Heads of state, interior modification centers, and business aircraft manufacturers. We have designed interiors for various types of aircraft from small business jets and helicopters to narrow and wide body aircraft such as Boeing and Airbus aircraft.

Multi-Design Associates provides aircraft interior design and engineering services and other specialized services including the following.

1. Interior Design services include:

Design and coordinate with customer and/or customer representative development of the floor plan.

Produce a design elevation package for all compartments and rooms on the aircraft.

Design of all interior components and details such as cabinetry and seating upholstery.

Materials specification and selection of colors, interior fabrics, materials and finishes.

Produce 3-D renderings as required, depicting proposed interior of the major compartments or rooms in the aircraft for customer approval, and completion center evaluation.

Design of exterior paint scheme, and monitoring of paint production.

Design coordination with vendors and subcontractors of interior components, such as seating, cabinetry, and upholstery.

Provide Quality Control, specification compliance, and design support throughout production and installation of interior.

2. Engineering Services include:

Floor plan evaluation and design for FAA specification compliance.

Engineering Design drawings for production or assembly of interior components such as cabinets and bulkheads.

Engineering Design drawings for installation of interior components, such as cabinets, bulkheads, and seating.

Electrical Systems Engineering Design and Modification.

Mechanical Systems Design and Modification.

Secondary Structures Design and Modification.

Stress Analysis and Reports.

Engineering liaison support during production and installation of interior.

FAA - DER documentation compliance, certification and support.

Specification, research, and evaluation of components and accessories to be acquired, such as: galley components, seating, lighting, switches, entertainment systems, etc.

3. Consulting Services include:

Interior Design specification and development.

Completion Center Evaluation and recommendation.

Interior Bid Evaluation.

Vendor and Sub-Contractor evaluation.

Major components evaluation and recommendation, such as seating, lighting, and entertainment systems.

Interior Production quality control and compliance.

On Site project monitoring.

4. Special services include:

Document production of the “Interior Specification Document” for the project, which is a key document in contract negotiations and compliance for the interior production.

Procurement of special items or components, such as artwork, chinaware and crystal settings, linens, decorative hardware, and medical equipment.

Project Management, including production scheduling, budget control, quality control, and project coordination with modification center.
